  1. Bully for us, that‚Äôs terrific! We have a vantage 
  2. point. As the outsider, a particularly great vantage 
  3. point, where we can see things freshly, where 
  4. Americans sometimes can‚Äôt see, because they have 
  5. their identity‚Äîwhich is as much of a straight 
  6. jacket as it is an advantage. I think the people who 
  7. are carried on McLuhan‚Äôs mantle in terms of 
  8. Canadian Canadians are the people like Second 
  9. City Television who do all these parodies about 
  10. television, and somebody like Martin Short, or some 
  11. of those Canadians who go down there and cut a 
  12. huge swath through American media. I think they 
  13. are a little freer in their approach. Wasn‚Äôt the 
  14. creator of Saturday Night Live  a Canadian? I‚Äôm not
